I live in Perth WA. (Insurance details below) How much would a root canal cost? + extra q's?

My bottom small molar cracked off too (yet another one - due to calcium deficiency). I am halfway through a root canal (temporarily capped due to a tooth infection) with the total bill to be $712 (live in Qld) which includes an xray. Root canals depend on how many roots in the tooth as well. A root canal of another molar tooth cost more as it was found unexpectedly to have 3 roots. I was told i needed a crown for that root canal i had done a few years ago but at $1300 it's a bit dear so i haven't had it done. Root canals make a tooth more brittle so a crown is to strengthen the tooth. Price depends on the damage and treatment needed...root canals aren't cheap but in my opinion worth it over a missing tooth. I don't have insurance so not sure how much you would get back. My dentist is excellent at root canals so i didn't need to see a specialist.
