My car was hit by the people I park next to. Am I being overly sensitive?

My apartment has underground parking. I have been hit by both neighbors that park on either side of me. My car is relatively new and has no other scratches/damage. The damage done by either accident is about a 6" x 3" patch of scratches. Neither neighbor left a note and I had to confront them both to get their insurance information to have my car fixed. Do people just let this stuff slide now-a-days? Am I being too sensitive?
