How much do I need to make a month on my own to live comfortably?

So I found a great apartment its $1,095 a month (then there's the electric an water bills laundry detergent toilet paper tooth paste shampoo food and just about everything else) I have 2 boxer dogs(the apartment complex does accept them yay! :) I have a car so insurance and gas i drive about 40 miles everyday car gets 25 mpg i love going out to eat an the movies love my entertainment but not a big shopper if I make $4,000 a month could I live comfortably and save a little every month for a rainy day in San Antonio Texas?
