Does car insurance cover licence plate changeover (Australian answers)?

I moved interstate and got car insurance at my residence for my car. After 3 months I had to change to the new states licence plates (still living at the same address). I forgot to tell the car insurance people about the change in licence plate number, is my car still insured if I need to make a claim now?
